EMODnet Seabed Habitats on the move!
The EMODnet Seabed Habitats website and web mapping portal are being centralised which means that our extensive range of marine habitat mapping data products will migrate to a new EMODnet Central Portal. This also means that the current website, which has been home to all EMODnet Seabed Habitats news, resource material and data since 2009, will retire.
The Central Portal will be live sometime in December 2022 and there will be a major announcement at that stage. This is just an early notification to prepare you for some changes you might have to make to your current interactions with the EMODnet Seabed Habitats website and mapping viewer. What is important to note, is that all of our habitat mapping data products will migrate across to the Central Portal and you will still be able to view, download and add data as a WMS.
One of the major advantages of this centralisation process is that all other EMODnet thematic lots are also migrating their data to the Central Portal. This will facilitate the viewing of marine habitat maps alongside data on geomorphology, marine chemistry and human pressures in one viewer. This will prove to be a powerful tool going forward and will lead to increased analyses of the relationships between data from the different EMODnet thematic lots.
