EMODnet Seabed Habitats at the Open Conference and Jamboree 2021
Members of EMODnet Seabed Habitats attended a weeklong event comprising of the EMODnet Open Conference (14-16 June 2021) and the EMODnet Jamboree 2021 (17-18 June), bringing together the EMODnet Partners across all thematic portals, third-party data providers and users from all over the globe.
The event helped showcase current EMODnet data, data products and services – and begin discussions across the different stakeholders how these products and services can be ‘levelled up’ in the future. The topics included how products and services could be improved for key stakeholders, how EMODnet could benefit from data sharing between global repositories and how “fair data” can be promoted further.
On day 1 of the conference, joint coordinators Ifremer and JNCC presented EMODnet Seabed Habitats' highlights and achievements and took part in a panel discussion on how the products and services could be improved to better suit user needs. The full presentation can be accessed on Vimeo, and all other presentations can be viewed on the "Video interventions and PPTs" page of the Conference Website.
The event was also an opportunity for thematic portals to showcase the current EMODnet data, data products and services. Project partners, ISPRA, presented an E-Poster on “A centralised access point for marine habitat spatial data: The EMODnet Seabed Habitats portal, which can be viewed on the ‘Community Posters’ page of the Conference Website alongside all other e-posters (see the first video in the list).
[Please note that the video on the Conference Website will be terminated after October 2021]
