Interactive map & metadata catalogue

Welcome to the EMODnet Seabed Habitats interactive mapping portal (or webGIS), which is linked to the ICES habitat mapping metadata catalogue.

The portal presents broad-scale habitat maps covering all European waters, individual collated habitat maps from surveys, modelled distribution maps of specific habitats and datasets relating to habitats on EU and international lists.

Users can either select the information they wish to view ("Build a query") or simply launch the mapper and browse for information by clicking the relevant icon below.

From the search results, click View map to go to the interactive map and zoom to the study area of the selected result or click on the Dataset name to view the full metadata record in the ICES Spatial Facility (metadata catalogue).
